Welcome to my portfolio. Here you will find the projects I have worked on and proudly have my name attached to in various positions.
Here you will find projects I have worked on in a post-production position.
A man with dreams of being a feared pirate goes through a painful, and comedically slapstick, transformation at the behest of a mischievous monkey that stows away on his ship.
This is a project I have worked on since just after the conceptual stage, when basic animatics were still being put together, and has been great fun to work on from start to where we are now. I have a couple of work in progress versions of the sound that I can present here but as the project as a whole is still very much work in progress these are all I can show for now, besides some photos of me working on the sound itself. As the only sound designer/editor on this project every sound you hear in these work in progress versions was either recorded or arranged by myself, and the music was composed and performed by myself too.
A film about a young man spending fathers day with his parents.
This film is different to all the others I've worked on as I'd been brought on for post-sound as audio director and sound designer with only a week left before release. I performed foley as well as running the desk, directing actors for ADR and conducting overall sound editing for the film. It was a real challenge as the on-set sound had a lot of issues due to weather conditions during filming and technical difficulties. Despite all of that we had fun with it and, working with the director and editor, made some great creative decisions with the sound and formed some great working relationships. It was a very exciting process getting to sit with the director as he ran me through the scene intentions
A young couple, working as bakers, have a secret ingredient sourced from less-than-reputable sources which lands them in hot water.
This was the first student film I worked on as a sound person, performing some light location scouting and helping to record and edit post-production dialogue from the director. I took more of an assistant sound editor role in this film.
The devil has an unexpected experience that causes him to question his position
I was brought in towards the end of this animation to work on foley FX by the Sound Designer Ellie Nielson, helping to brainstorm and perform some of the effects for the animatic.
Find out more about my work on this in this development blog post
A woman working in a laundromat with her light-hearted husband goes on a multiverse spanning adventure to save the universe from destruction.
This is for practise and eucational purposes only, I did not work on the actual film. For a project at university, a group of us re-recorded, edited and arranged the sound for 8 minutes of the film. The only sound we didn't change/recreate was the music, as it fit the film too well.
I have been involved in a couple of projects in a live sound capacity, conducting every sound role from Sound recordist to runner.
A man is questioned by a detective after the death of his wife.
My role on this film was initially as a stand-in sound recordist however I ended up becoming the main sound recordist for 2 of the 3 original shoot days as well as both days of reshoots, and the press kit interviews. I met a lot of fun actors and had an overall great time. The film is only short, being a student film, and I am still on good working terms with the people from that project.
I was part of the sound team recording an interview of one of the media lecturers about the screening room, a room for screening films in a manner fairly similar to a film theatre. I aided in equipment setup and ran the log sheet.
I also cameo as myself during some of the bridging shots
Though an area of sound I really want to get into, I have had very limited experience with game sound.
A conceptual narrative horror game for the blind.
Though composition is not my forte, I have composed and mixed my own pieces of music.
I scored a short main theme and some musical pieces to background some of the scenes in The Real Pirate, which can be seen in the WIP4
I was brought in by a small team of developers to compose the soundtrack and create the sound design for a game they were making, called PricedUp!, as part of a game jam competition. Unfortunately, the game was not completed by the submission deadline, however I have decided to provide the soundtrack I composed as I'm still rather proud of it
I was selected by a small team, with some of the same members as the team behind PricedUp!, to help create another game for a game jam competition. The game was completed and is playable at this link.
A musique concrete piece about city life and the growing overwhelm it places on it's citizens.
This was initially a fun little piece of music put together for a univeristy project but I honestly really enjoyed it and I'm proud of it so I still have it up on various platforms for people to listen to if they want to. I put together, recorded every sound, mixed and arranged every aspect of this piece myself.
A soundscape to highlight the destructive nature of mankind to the natural soundscape of the world
This track was my first foray into using Ableton, and was created to satisfy the requirements of a project, though I look at it now as an early example of my delving into videogame musical composition
I have mixed and mastered multiple songs, both my own music and music performed by others.
A duo of songs recorded and mixed for a small group of musicians in the university recording studio. Reuben is the name of the man who composed and performed the songs. These songs were only mixed, and not mastered, as we were not yet trained in mastering.
These songs are royalty free, I by no means own them and I gain no financial compensation for posting them.
For a university module I had to arrange, mix and master both of these songs. We were given total freedom to make decisions surrounding these and I am incredibly proud of how they both came out, and it was a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience doing both the mixing and mastering
The Pretenders' hit song 'Don't get me wrong' was chosen by me to be arranged, performed, mixed and mastered for my A level Music Tech recording and mixing assessment. This displays my ability to record and mix the recording as well as arranging performers.
This, like my Everything Everywhere All At Once work, is purely for educational and demonstrational purposes and I in no way own the song.
